HP's 4277A LCZ Meter is a general purpose impedance measuring instrument designed to measure circuit components such as capacitors and inductors using frequency and dc bias conditions identical to those of the intended application. The 4277A features variable test frequency (10 kHz - 1 MHz), optional dc bias variable from 0 to ± 40 V, multiple parameters (L -C-|Z|-D-Q-ESR-G- q ) with fully automatic high speed measurements, and 4 1/2 digit resolution. The 4277A has an impedance range of 10Ω to 1 MΩ .

The instrument is ideal for production line, quality control, and circuit design applications, and is versatile enough for stand-alone use or systems use under HP-IB control (standard). An optional comparator for 10-bin sorting with measurement time of less than 100 ms make the 4277A a good choice for production line testing of discrete components.
